Since Duncan Grehan and Partners was established in 1984 the firm has provided an increasing foreign client base with advice in all of the practice areas below. We are experienced in dealing with cross border transactions. Many of our clients trade with Ireland from abroad, provide insurance to customers trading here or have set up subsidiary or branch operations here. Others have invested in farmland, bloodstock, country houses and holiday homes.

We correspond in the English and German languages which a number of our staff speak. We are a small skilled and experienced team who provide a professional and efficient service to its Irish and international clients. We are members of a number of non-exclusive international lawyer networks, groupings and associations.

Conor Griffin BCL, LLM, solicitor, is the Managing Partner of Duncan Grehan & Partners, Solicitors where he has been working for over twenty years. He graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Law degree and subsequently also obtained his Masters degree in Commercial Law.
Conor has extensive experience in all areas of general practice with a particular expertise in litigation and dispute resolution. He advises national and international clients in English and in German on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious matters including product liability claims, personal injury*, and professional and medical negligence. He also has extensive experience in employment law.
Conor also works regularly on the clearance of advertisements, marketing materials and sales promotions. He is the member for Ireland of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA) and a regular speaker at advertising law events as an expert on providing clearance advice on advertising copy, advising on passing off, trademark infringement, competitions, promotions, lotteries, lottery licenses and transactions and documentation associated with the industry, agencies and advertisers.

Ms. Éadaoin McLoughlin, B.Comm. Int. (German), Solicitor, is a Partner in Duncan Grehan & Partners Solicitors where she was trained and has been working for over thirteen years. She graduated from University College Dublin in 2004 with a Bachelor of Commerce International degree. She attended University in the RWTH Aachen Germany, where she completed her Erasmus year before returning to University College Dublin to complete her final year.
Éadaoin is a fluent German speaker and works regularly with German speaking clients. She has extensive experience of debt recovery and the enforcement of foreign judgments in Ireland. She is also involved in contentious and non-contentious general practice work such as breach of contract, injury litigation, and administration of estates.
In recent years much of her time has been spent in processing sales and purchases of residential property and real estate, the enforcement of foreign judgments and probate matters for Irish and International clients in English and in German.

Malachy O’Callaghan has an honours degree in Business Studies from Trinity College Dublin. After obtaining his degree he chose to pursue a career in law and has been practising as a solicitor in Ireland since 1987. He practices in the fields of commercial and residential property, company and commercial law, inheritance law and estate management.
Malachy has been engaged in property sales and lettings in Ireland over the last 20 years. He has a particular expertise in dealing with non-resident purchasers and off-shore purchasers of property in Ireland. He has also been engaged in the acquisition of commercial properties on behalf of private investors and the letting and sale of industrial premises and development land and advising clients on the appropriate commercial structure in the acquisition. He has acted for a number of developers in relation to land bank acquisitions, subsequent development and then estate management. He has also been involved extensively in the sale of agricultural holdings in the Republic of Ireland. Malachy is the personal lawyer for one of Ireland’s principal waste management companies and deals with all of their real estate requirements. He is also frequently instructed by the Embassies in Dublin of a number of EU member states on the sale and acquisition of specific high value properties and recently worked with Knight Frank Ganly Walters in relation to such a transaction.

Duncan Grehan established Duncan Grehan & Partners Solicitors in 1984 and is now a consultant to the firm. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin (MA; LLB) and the Max-Planck-Institute, Hamburg, he is the advisor (Vertrauensanwalt) to the embassies in Ireland of Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Duncan Grehan is a CEDR accredited commercial mediator. He has practised commercial dispute resolution in and out of court for over 30 years. He is experienced in cross-border breach-of-contract issues and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements in Ireland.
